From January to March 2021, buckwheat have grown in price at the world market, by almost 40%. Among the main reasons is the growth of exports from Russia. In 2019, Russia exported only 80 thousand tons of buckwheat, but in 2020 – 220 thousand tons.
Price for buckwheat has grown 1.7 times over the year, according to Federal State Statistics Service data.
Experts believe that a sharp increasing of price for buckwheat in 2021 is unlikely, but they do not exclude further growth price.
Earlier, the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia to allow extension of the ban on the export of buckwheat after 31 August, when completed the harvesting campaign.
